Why Not Review The Site of The Day?

Geedos Down Under - http://www.geedos.com/wordpress

The adventure continues Down Under! After 19 months travelling across Europe, South-East Asia and Australasia Geedos headed back to the UK for a year or so, promptly got bored, and jetted off to live and work in Melbourne for a change. As you do.

About
The Fair Review Project is about creating relationships, rather than link exchanges, between bloggers.

Rather than one blogger getting all the links from your hard work, whilst only giving a link back to the post that mentions them, we give you a link to your blog, plus the opportunity of being reviewed yourself.

To get listed, review a blog within this directory, and then submit a listing request.

About The Creator
Fair Review Project was created by Rhys Wynne.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Purpose of this Website?
The purpose of this website is to hopefully attract more readers to your blog, not through mindless linking to irrelevant blogs and leading blogs in your niche, but by actively participating in the community of blogging. If you are a new blogger, fair-review.co.uk will hopefully generate interest in your blog, as well as providing the first steps to helping you interact with other bloggers, rather than cocooning yourself within your own blog.

What do I have To Do To Get Listed?
To get listed, all you need to do is review a blog that's already listed within our directory.

What's A Review?
A review is a short 100-150 word blog post that is about the blog in question. The review must contain the following at the minimum

Those are essential, but the following is optional.

What Do I Get In Return?
In return, you will recieve a listing on the Fair Review directory, this is the main thing, as from then, individuals can review your blog as many times as they like.

On top of that, you will also recieve a mention in the Fair Review Blog, and the first 100 people who submit their review will also get a mention on my more established blog - The Gospel According To Rhys. As well as this, I am planning a "Random Review", whereby I do a review of a blog every so often on the Fair Review Blog

Furthermore, if you link to that blog's feed, you will get your feed listed here.

Could You Give Me an Example Review?
Here's an example review given for my blog:-

The Gospel According To Rhys is the personal blog about a Welshman in Colwyn Bay. In it, he talks about his main interests, which include football, playing on the Wii and blogging. He often reviews Wii games and the site has an active forum.

As of August 2007, the blog's design is intricately designed to make the most of the space offered, and is monetized. However, I suggest that he removes some of the darker background, as it is difficult to read at times.

Whilst a personal blog, Rhys' language at times may not be suitable for children.

Rhys has a feed which you can subscribe to here.

This blog post is a review as part of the Fair Review Project.

Notice that I ticked off all the things I needed to? Also, I did link to a few extra posts as well, as one of the easiest ways to get to the word total is to talk about individual posts, what posts do you like? what posts do you not like? Basically, read through several blogs, pick one that you like, and review it.

Once you have done that, you need to submit your request to join the directory here.

I've Submitted My Request, Where's My Listing?
To give everybody a chance of getting fair reviews, and we are starting off, submissions are accepted in batches of 10, and are done every 2nd Saturday usually. This is while we are still small. If the backlog becomes to big then we will switch it to a weekly basis. So get your blogging friends to submit their reviews too!

Also, if you're blog is very new. I do hold back linking to them to begin with. A blog doesn't have three posts. If you've been going for a month or two, you should be fine.

Right, My Blog's There, Now What?
Hopefully, you should get reviews, but you can do more. Does the blogger you reviewed know about your review? Why not mention it to them in a comment, you may get a reply and a link back. This is what Fair Review is all about, building your reader circle.

Of course, you can review other blogs too! You are already listed in the directory, but there's no stopping you taking a look at other blogs in here. You may like a few of them and comment and link to them, and they may do the same back!

How Will My Search Engine Ranking Be Affected By This?
Whilst it won't be a huge increase, you should notice an increase if the site is successful. You can link to individual categories or to the blog, so if you are say in the Business Category, a few links to the category page will help in the future.

But the main focus is by building readership. Word of mouth is the strongest form of promotion. Hopefully together, we can help you find new blogs.

I Went To Read A Blog Who Last Updated Three Months Ago. Should I Review It?
Probably not, as it may not get you a reader. If you could report it to us, that would be fabulous. The link is underneath each individual entry.

I Went To Read A Blog Which I Like But It Has Pagerank 0. Should I Review It?
Of course! All because it's brand new doesn't mean it's terrible. On the contrary, these could be more successful in the long run than other more established blogs that it becomes difficult to penetrate. It just depends on the attitude of the blogger.

How Do I know if My Blog Has Been Reviewed?
Hopefully the reviewer will tell you, but you can check through the link directory to see who reviewed who. Hopefully this will appear in the search function, I just haven't figured it out yet.

I have Been Reviewed! What Should I Do?
Whatever you want! I would recommend for etiquette's reason that you thank your reviewer with a comment or a linkback. It's just being nice.
